Two-time WNBL champion Jacqui Zelenka signs with Mackay

The Mackay Meteorettes have added two-time WNBL champion Jacqui Zelenka to their roster for the 2021 NBL1 North season.

Zelenka experienced ultimate success with the Townsviile Fire after impressing at college level for the Southwest Baptist Bearcats in the Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association (MIAA).

In the MIAA, Zelenka was named twice in the All-MIAA Second Team and once in the All-MIAA Defensive Team, with those accolades coming in 2013 and 2014.

Even throughout her time in the WNBL, Zelenka remained loyal to the Meteorettes, having been on their roster since 2016.

In that time, she was part of two QBL championship-winning teams, so she knows what it takes to succeed.

She will be hoping her team can succeed on NBL1 North opening night on Friday 14 May, when they take on Townsville.
