After her spectacular NBL1 North campaign, McSpadden signed with the WNBL’s Sydney Flames for her debut season. In five games so far, she’s averaging 5.4 points and 3.8 rebounds for the 2-3 Flames.
Cyclone's head coach Drew Fenton said that McSpadden is one of the best bigs in the country and he is excited to have her return this coming season.
“Lara is one of the best Australian bigs in the NBL1 and we are excited to have her return,” he told Rockhampton.
“Lara has been the driving force behind building the Cyclones profile over the last 3 years and this will continue into 2024… Lara is our anchor defensively and she took her leadership to a new level in 2023, which set the platform for future Cyclones players to follow her lead.”
McSpadden said she cannot wait to return to the Cyclones after their success last season.
“I’m so excited to be signing back with Rocky after what was such a successful campaign last year,” she said.
“I’m looking forward to being back to go one better in 2024.”
