Rockingham Flames gun Tayah Burrows will be fulfilling her dreams of playing college basketball when she joins Washington State University at the end of the year.

Rockingham Flames gun Tayah Burrows will be fulfilling her dreams of playing college basketball when she joins Washington State University at the end of the year.

The 5'9 guard has already made an immediate impact with the Flames in NBL1 West this season, scoring 22 points and grabbing seven rebounds in their clash against Perth.

Burrows also featured in 13 games for the Perth Lynx in 2020 and took out their Youth Player of the Year award, after initially joining the team as a development player.

The Bunbury local told The West Australian that in order to keep her college dream alive, she has played at professional and Preeminent Development League level for free for the past three years.

This is because colleges have strict eligibility rules which state that a player must be an amateur.

For now, Burrows will continue to play for Rockingham and study a Bachelor of Arts at Curtin University before moving overseas in December.
