Mount Gambier Pioneers Unveil First Nations Uniform

As part of the 2025 NBL1 First Nations Round, the Mount Gambier Pioneers have proudly unveiled their inaugural First Nations uniform.

Designed by local Indigenous artist Belinda Bonney, a proud Meintangk, Boandik, Ngarrindjeri, Kooma, and Murriwarri woman, the uniform design is titled “The Huddle.” It represents the moment before a game when a team gathers togethe; sharing energy, encouragement, and focus. The artwork reflects unity, resilience, and the strength that comes from community.

The First Nations Round is a key initiative across all NBL1 conferences, celebrating the cultures, stories, and contributions of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples to basketball and Australian life. The Pioneers will wear the uniform during their Tasmania road trip this weekend, before donning it again in front of their home crowd at Wulanda on Friday, July 11 against the Bendigo Braves.
