There were Saturday night Round 12 victories for the Brisbane Capitals, Northside Wizards, Southern Districts Spartans, Townsville Flames, Gold Coast Rollers and USC Rip City.
Round 12 in the NBL1 North Women's competition began on Friday night with the Logan Thunder defeating the Ipswich Force 75-61, the Cairns Dolphins downing the Red City Roar 103-91 and Northside Wizards beating the Rockhampton Cyclones 97-65.
Then on Saturday night, the Brisbane Capitals needed overtime to end up beating the South West Metro Pirates 77-75 with Abby Cubillo the hero with the game winner after a steal.
That gave Cubillo 21 points, 10 rebounds, 10 assists and five steals in a stunning performance while Bride Kennedy-Hopoate top-scored for South West with 22 points and 11 rebounds.
The Northside Wizards continued their imposing form with a 107-77 win on the road to the Mackay Meteorettes.
Tiana Mangakahia produced another standout display for the Wizards with 34 points, 14 assists, nine steals and six rebounds with Kelsey McDermott adding 27 points. Alisia Jenkins delivered 32 points and 13 rebounds for Mackay.
The Southern Districts Spartans proved too good on the road for the Sunshine Coast Phoenix with the eventual 79-64 win on Saturday night.
Nadeen Payne produced 26 points and eight rebounds for Southern Districts with Leah Scott adding 23 points and eight boards. Caitlin Clancy finished with 25 points for Sunshine Coast.
It was a commanding performance at home from the Townsville Flames with them ending up beating the Red City Roar 90-60.
Courtney Woods finished the night with 22 points, five rebounds and four assists with four three-pointers for Townsville. Mia Lloyd delivered 25 points and 12 rebounds for Red City.
The Gold Coast Rollers made the trip to the Top End and came away with the 79-71 victory against the Darwin Salties.
Angela Lou Beadle top-scored for Gold Coast with 21 points and nine rebounds with Lauren Mansfield finishing with 16 points and 11 assists. Chelsea Brook produced 29 points, eight rebounds and four assists for the Salties.
USC Rip City managed to finish strongly to overrun the North Gold Coast Seahawks and score the 88-85 win on Saturday night.
Ashley Arlen had a huge night for Rip City delivering 36 points and 11 rebounds while hitting four three-pointers. Isalys Quinones put up 25 points and 12 rebounds for North Gold Coast.
The Round 12 NBL1 North action will wrap up on Sunday afternoon with the North Gold Coast Seahawks hosting the Logan Thunder, and Southern Districts Spartans playing the South West Metro Pirates.

SOUTH WEST METRO PIRATES 75 lost to BRISBANE CAPITALS 77
The Brisbane Capitals claimed a heart stopping two-point overtime victory against the South West Metro Pirates in Saturday night NBL1 North action.
The two teams did battle at Hibiscus Sports Stadium as Round 12 continued and put on quite the spectacle with never more that eight points separating them.
Both teams made significant scoring runs during the first quarter but by quarter-time it was South West leading narrowly 20-17.
It was more of the same in the second quarter with the lead continuing to swap hands before it was all square at 35-apiece by half-time.
The Pirates made the most significant break of the game during the third quarter to score 10 straight points to go from being two points down to eight points up, and they were still leading 61-54 by three quarter-time.
Brisbane was able to work back into the contest, though in the fourth quarter it became a three-point shootout late in the piece.
Courtney Middap hit one for the Capitals to put them up four with just under four minutes to play before Tyla King-Paul responded for South West. Middap then nailed another to put Brisbane back up three before Steph Bairstow took her chance from downtown to draw the Pirates level once more.
Abby Cubillo and Kellie Page then traded three-point bombs and ultimately it was 70-70 by the end of regulation.
Then in overtime, it remained a rollercoaster battle until Cubillo stole the ball from King-Paul, went up the other end to lay it up and that won the game for the Brisbane as they prevailed 77-75.
On top of hitting the game winner, Abby Cubillo finished with 21 points, 10 rebounds, 10 assists and five steals for Brisbane.
Courtney Middap added 19 points with 5/13 shooting from beyond the arc while Anna Cameron contributed 13 points, 11 rebounds and four assists, Bronte Corke eight points and five rebounds, Steph Collins eight points and 15 boards, and Madison Woodford eight points and four rebounds.
Bride Kennedy-Hopoate delivered 22 points and 11 rebounds for South West with Tyla King-Paul contributing nine points, six rebounds and five assists, Steph Bairstow nine points and nine boards, and Cat MacGregor nine points.
MACKAY METEORETTES 77 lost to NORTHSIDE WIZARDS 107
The Northside Wizards continued their hot form on the back of Tiana Mangakahia with another commanding win on Saturday night, this time on the road to the Mackay Meteorettes.
The Wizards started their road double with a thumping 32-point win over the Rockhampton Cyclones on Friday night ahead of heading to Mackay Basketball Stadium on Saturday to take on the Meteorettes.
With Mangakahia continuing her remarkable run of form, the Wizards worked their way on top and led 29-20 by quarter-time.
A 13-0 scoring run then saw Northside build a 15-point advantage during the second quarter and they were on top 48-34 by the main break.
Mackay tried to work back into the contest on their home court in the third quarter and they did score eight straight points, but the Wizards had all the answers.
The visitors went on to deliver 37 points to 17 in the fourth quarter on the way to the 107-77 victory to give them two wins in Round 12 by a total of 62 points on the road.
The results leave Northside with a 10-4 record on the season while Mackay is now 9-6 following the defeat at home.
It was another stunning performance from Sydney Uni Flames WNBL signing Tiana Mangakahia as she delivered 34 points, 14 assists, nine steals and six rebounds on 15/28 shooting for the Wizards.
Kelsey McDermott had a big night for Northside too with 27 points and four rebounds while hitting 6/11 from beyond the arc with Shyla Heal contributing 18 points and nine rebounds, Caitlin Cunningham 14 points and 12 boards, and Emma Read eight points.
Alisia Jenkins fought valiantly for Mackay with 32 points, 13 rebounds and five steals while shooting 12/20 from the floor and 8/8 from the foul line.
Ellie Collins added 19 points, six rebounds and three steals, Shaneice Swain eight points and four assists, and Courtney Virgo eight points and three assists.
SUNSHINE COAST PHOENIX 64 lost to SOUTHERN DISTRICTS SPARTANS 79
The Southern Districts Spartans overcame a half-time deficit to end up scoring a 15-point road win over the Sunshine Coast Phoenix.
The Phoenix played host to the Spartans in Saturday night's NBL1 North action at Maroochydore Stadium, and it was the visitors who opened up an early seven-point edge but by quarter-time that advantage was back to a point.
Sunshine Coast then pulled away to open up a double-digit advantage during the second quarter before going into the half-time break leading 41-34.
The Spartans turned things around significantly during the third quarter, though, going on a 13-0 run to turn that deficit into a seven-point lead.
Southern Districts continued on with that momentum to score another 11 straight points in the fourth term to lead by as much as 15 by the final buzzer for the eventual 79-64 win.
The win keeps the Spartans in second spot in the standings at 12-3 while the Pheonix slip to 1-14 following the defeat.
Getting to the foul line 27 times to 12 ended up being a significant factor in the win for Southern Districts with Nadeen Payne racking up 26 points and eight rebounds.
Leah Scott added 23 points and eight boards, Madelyn Allen 14 points, eight assists and five rebounds, and Kalani Purcell eight points, seven rebounds, three steals, three assists and three blocks.
Caitlin Clancy produced 25 points, seven rebounds and four assists for Sunshine Coast with Nicola Handreck contributing 20 points, nine boards and three assists, and Madeleine White eight points, three steals and two assists.
TOWNSVILLE FLAMES 90 defeated RED CITY ROAR 60
The Townsville Flames proved too strong at home for the Red City Roar on Saturday night to end up winning by 30 points.
Red City fought hard the night before in Cairns before losing by 12 points to the Dolphins ahead of heading to Townsville StarFM Stadium to take on the Flames on Saturday night.
The Flames asserted their authority early on putting up eight straight points to lead by as much as 14 points in the opening quarter and still being up 23-17 by the end of one.
Townsville then dominated further in the second quarter with a 13-0 run helping them put up 24 points to seven on the way to the 47-24 lead by half-time.
The Flames continued on their merry way by blowing the lead out to 33 points during the third quarter, and it got out to 35 in the fourth term before they ended up scoring the 90-60 victory.
Townsville improves to a 12-3 record on the season as a result of the big win while Red City slips to 4-11 following the hefty defeat.
The Flames ended up shooting 50.8 per cent from the field for the game opposed to 29.0 for the Roar while they also had 12 more rebounds for the night.
Courtney Woods finished with 22 points, five rebounds, four assists and two steals for Townsville on 4/8 shooting from the land of plenty.
Alanna Smith added 18 points and eight rebounds for the Flames with Mia Murray contributing 12 points, five assists and four boards, Harriet Carey 11 points and eight rebounds, and Steph Reid 10 points and five assists.
Mia Lloyd did what she could to keep Red City in the contest finishing with 25 points, 12 rebounds and three steals.
Ariana Moorer added nine points, seven rebounds and three assists, Ayla Acdol seven points and two assists, and Lily Sarra six points and two boards.
DARWIN SALTIES 71 lost to GOLD COAST ROLLERS 79
The Gold Coast Rollers kept their NBL1 North playoff hopes alive with an eight-point win on the road to the Darwin Salties on Saturday night.
The Salties were back home at Darwin Basketball Stadium to play host to the Rollers in Round 12 action with Gold Coast not taking long to work their way on top.
The Rollers scored nine consecutive points during the opening term to lead 20-11 by quarter-time before that advantage grew to double-digits early in the second quarter.
However, Darwin regrouped to work back into the contest the rest of the half and to even lead briefly before Gold Coast held a narrow 38-35 advantage heading into the half-time break.
Darwin continued to make a real fist of it and even scored 12 points in-a-row during the third quarter to lead by as much as six points before scores were all locked together by three quarter-time.
Darwin went back up four early in the final period but then Gold Coast finished strongly with eight straight points to end up claiming the 79-71 victory.
The win improves the Rollers to a 6-9 record on the season while the Salties are now 3-11.
Angela Lou Beadle delivered 21 points and nine rebounds for Gold Coast on 9/13 shooting with Lilly Rotunno contributing 16 points, Lauren Mansfield 16 points and 11 assists, and Jade Peacock 10 points.
Chelsea Brook had a big night for Darwin with 29 points, eight rebounds and four assists on 13/20 shooting from the floor and 3/6 from downtown.
Ruby Porter added nine points and seven assists, April Rummery-Lamb eight points and six rebounds, and Lauren Heard eight points, five boards and four assists.
NORTH GOLD COAST SEAHAWKS 85 lost to USC RIP CITY 88
USC Rip City ended up claiming a thrilling three-point win against the North Gold Coast Seahawks on Saturday night.
Round 12 in the NBL1 North continued at Runaway Bay Stadium with the Seahawks hosting Rip City, and by quarter-time it was the home team with the five-point lead.
Things remained tight the rest of the evening with nine straight points helping USC hit the front in the second term before by half-time North Gold Coast had worked their way back on top to lead 47-45.
Both teams continued to trade the lead right throughout the second half with never more than five points the difference.
On multiple occasions down the stretch did Rip City open up a four-point lead including after a layup to Madeline Campbell with a minute left, but the Seahawks kept responding.
However, ultimately a pair of Katherine Ups free-throws pushed USC back out to a four-point lead and then Ashley Arlen denied Isalys Quinones getting a three-point attempt off late as North Gold Coast tried to force the game to overtime.
Rip City ended up holding on for the 88-85 victory to see them improve to 7-6 on the season while the Seahawks are now 8-7 following the defeat.
Ashley Arlen produced a standout all-round performance for Rip City to finish with 36 points, 11 rebounds and three assists on the back of shooting 13/21 from the floor, 4/7 from three-point range and 6/8 from the free-throw line.
Maddy Rocci added 17 points, five rebounds, four assists and three steals, Liisa Ups 12 points and four boards, Katherine Ups 11 points and five rebounds, and Madeline Campbell six points, four boards and three steals.
Isalys Quinones had an impressive showing for North Gold Coast with 25 points, 12 rebounds, three assists and two blocked shots.
Doniyah Cliney put up 18 points, four rebounds and three steals, Erin Riley 12 points, five assists, four boards and three steals, Lauren Jansen 12 points and four rebounds, and Zoe Crawford 12 points and three steals.
