On Sunday there was only one double-header this week in the NBL1 West as the Eastern Suns hosted the Goldfields Giants.

Check out how the two games went below:

Women:

Eastern Suns (55) def by Goldfields Giants (67)

The Goldfieds Giants took down the Eastern Suns on their home floor 67-55. Danielle McCray was the match's star with 17 points and 10 rebounds in the dominant performance. Two other Giants had double-digit rebounds, as Goldfield overwhelmed the Suns as they collected 12 more rebounds, a major factor in their win.

The Suns had four players in double-digit scoring but they only shot an abysmal 27.4 percent from the field. Alexis Bland did her best with 15 points and seven rebounds but it wasn’t enough to beat Goldfields.

Men:

Eastern Suns (99) def Goldfields Giants (72)

The Eastern Suns defended home court with flare as they beat the Goldfields Giants 99-72 in the massive win on a Sunday afternoon.

The Suns’ Albert Almanza had a game-high 28 points in the win as the 13th-seeded Suns took down the fourth-placed Giants at home. The Giants’ struggles can be contributed to their three-point play, they shot 27.7 percent from outside compared to the Suns’ fantastic 60 percent!

Hamish Cummings led the Giants in scoring with 17 points but the win and major upset this weekend is granted to the Suns.
