After a very successful 2021 NBL1 Season, the Launceston Tornadoes are proud to announce the re-signing of Sarah Veale as Head Coach for next season.
This will be Coach Veale’s 3rd season with the Club.
Tornadoes Chair Neil Grose said: "The club is very excited to have re-signed Sarah as Head Coach of the Tornadoes.
"The growth of the playing group since Sarah has been the Tornadoes Coach has been nothing short of brilliant and the Club is looking forward to a fantastic 2022 Season as we build upon these strong foundations.
"Sarah’s dedication to the Club and the incredible team culture that she has built is shown by her great results in 2021.
"This is what the Tornadoes is all about, giving our local people the opportunity to excel at the highest level possible."
The Tornadoes season was unfortunately cut short on 1 September due to Covid restrictions in Victoria and the closed Tasmanian Border.
Up until the Tornadoes' last game played, they sat 3rd on the ladder and appeared a real threat for the NBL1 South 2021 Championship.
On her re-appointment, Coach Veale said: "I am really proud of what our team of 2021 achieved.
"This season we started from scratch building our culture, systems and style of play.
"We came so far, we certainly have a special group and have set a standard for the team of 2022 to pursue.
"We will again have a group of high-quality players and high calibre young women, while again bringing in younger local development players.
"Our goal remains the same, that of winning the championship for our club and community."
