The Geelong Supercats have announced the exciting signing of Melbourne United big man Jo Lual-Acuil.

In his second season for United, Lual-Acuil is averaging 7.3 points and 3.6 boards, playing a big part in his team's 15 wins.

He has also been able to build on his 2020 form with Melbourne, where he averaged 5.8 points and 2.4 rebounds.

Originally hailing from South Sudan, the 26-year-old has had quite the basketball journey.

After spending two seasons at Neosho County Community College, Lual-Acuil then joined one of the most prestigious American colleges in Baylor University.

At Baylor, he was named in both the Big 12 All-Defensive and All-Newcomer teams in 2017.

He will now get the opportunity to continue to make big strides in his career at Geelong Arena, alongside United teammate Jack White (pending injury) as well as college talents Isaac Turner and Gabe Hadley.
