The Melbourne Tigers have announced that elite cross-code athlete Monique Conti will be in Tigers colours again for the 2021 NBL1 South season.
Having been a Tiger since the age of seven, Conti is loyal and committed to Melbourne.
In the 2019 NBL1 season, the classy point guard put up great numbers, averaging 20.4 points, 4.7 rebounds and 4.2 assists and over 35 minutes per game.
In 2020, she was a part of the Southside Flyers' WNBL championship-winning team.
Conti manages a challenging yearly schedule and is an elite athlete across basketball and the rapidly growing AFLW.
She is a marquee player with Richmond, so there is a strong Tiger link across the whole year.
"I’ve been a Melbourne Tiger my whole life since I started rep basketball," Conti told the NBL1’s The Fast Break in late 2020.
"It is my club, my home club, I guess I call it home.
"I would love to play there for the rest of my NBL1 career but then again you just don’t know what can happen, there’s a lot of factors that come into it."
Head coach David Herbert is building a strong and deeper roster for the 2021 NBL1 season, with the playoffs a clear target.
He says Conti being a big part of this overall plan.
Catch the Tigers in action next Saturday at MSAC when they take on the Sandringham Sabres.
