The Nunawading Spectres consolidated their top four position in the NBL1 South Women's competition by beating the Geelong Supercats 67-49.
Alice Kunek delivered 24 points, seven rebounds and four assists in the win for Nunawading to go with knocking down 4/8 from three-point territory.
Sarah O'Neill top-scored for Geelong with 15 points.
The Sandringham Sabres might still fall short of a playoff position but they scored a ninth win of the season on Friday night by beating the Hobart Chargers 83-74.
Georgia Pineau had a big night for the Sabres with 24 points and 12 rebounds while Angela Tompkins finished with 27 points and eight rebounds for the Chargers.
The Saturday evening NBL1 South action will see the Bendigo Braves host the Melbourne Tigers while the Casey Cavaliers take on the Dandenong Rangers, the Kilsyth Cobras play the Nunawading Spectres, the Ballarat Miners face the Diamond Valley Eagles, and the Eltham Wildcats face the Ringwood Hawks.
The Keilor Thunder will also play the Geelong Supercats while the Launceston Tornadoes host the Sandringham Sabres and the Mount Gambier Pioneers take on the Knox Raiders.
Then on Sunday, the Frankston Blues play the Kilsyth Cobras with the Melbourne Tigers facing the Ballarat Minders, and the Waverley Falcons take on the Ringwood Hawks.

GEELONG SUPERCATS 49 lost to NUNAWADING SPECTRES 67
The Nunawading Spectres consolidated their hold on a top four position in the NBL1 South with an impressive 18-point road win over the Geelong Supercats on Friday night.
With both teams entering the second last round of the NBL1 South regular season on 13-6 records, a top four position virtually went on the line between Geelong and Nunawading at The Arena on Friday night.
After Geelong started well to lead by five early on, Nunawading soon took over the contest by going on a 9-0 run themselves to lead by as much as 10 points and to still be on top 21-12 by the end of one.
The Spectres kept that momentum going throughout the second quarter and they went on another 8-0 scoring streak to go on top by 16 points and to still be in control leading 41-25 at half-time.
It was going to take something special from the Supercats to get back into the contest and while they did outscore the Spectres 19 to 15 in the third term, they couldn’t go on with it.
Nunawading restricted Geelong to just the five points in the final term while scoring another 11 themselves to end up winning 67-49.
The win improves the Spectres to a 14-6 record on the season to be in fourth position while the Supercats are now 13-7 in sixth spot.
Nunawading finished the night shooting 48.1 per cent from the floor opposed to 30.2 per cent from the Supercats.
Alice Kunek was the standout player on the court for the game finishing with 24 points, seven rebounds and four assists for Nunawading including hitting 4/8 from three-point range.
Cassidy Mihalko added 10 points and three assists for the Spectres, Tayha Watkins nine points, five rebounds and four assists, and Megan Mullings eight points and nine rebounds.
Sarah O'Neill produced 15 points for Geelong with Eve Braslis contributing 10 points and eight rebounds, Sarah Elsworthy eight points, and Alex Duck seven points and six assists.
HOBART CHARGERS 74 lost to SANDRINGHAM SABRES 83
Playoffs in the NBL1 South might be out of reach for the Sandringham Sabres in 2022 but they offered a glimpse into what they are capable of with a nine-point win over the Hobart Chargers on Friday night.
Neither the Chargers nor Sabres were going to be able to be part of the post-season NBL1 South action coming into Friday night's clash at Kingborough Sports Centre, but that didn’t stop the motivation being high for a strong performance.
While Sandringham were able to open up a nine-point lead during the first quarter, but the end of the opening period their lead was back to three.
Things remained tight throughout the second period as well with the Sabres on top 40-35 by half-time but the game was still up for grabs.
Sandringham pulled away further during the third quarter putting together an 8-0 scoring streak to lead by as much as 14, and then to maintain that edge the rest of the way.
The Sabres went on to win the game 83-74 away from home to improve to a 9-11 record on the season while with the loss the Chargers are now 4-17.
Georgia Pineau had an outstanding night for Sandringham in the win finishing with 24 points and 12 rebounds on shooting 11/2 from the floor.
Britt Smart added 18 points, three rebounds and three assists for the Sabres, Rachel Jarry 16 points, five boards and five steals, Amy O'Neill 10 points, eight assists and six rebounds, and Brigitte O'Neill eight points, two boards and two assists.
Angela Tompkins top-scored for Hobart with 27 points, eight rebounds, three assists and two steals.
Sharna Thompson added 19 points and six rebounds, Kylie McCauley 10 points, seven boards, six assists and three steals, and Paige Bradley 10 points, seven assists and five rebounds.
Leah Bartlett also contributed eight points and nine rebounds.
