Sabres announce huge signing of Opals captain Jenna O'Hea

On the eve of NBL1 South, the Sandringham Sabres have announced the huge signing of Opals captain Jenna O'Hea for the 2021 season.

On the eve of NBL1 South, the Sandringham Sabres have announced the huge signing of Opals captain Jenna O'Hea for the 2021 season.

After an outstanding junior career, O'Hea went on to have a decorated playing career, with her most recent accolade being the 2020 WNBL championship with the Southside Flyers.

She won that title alongside fellow Sandringham recruits Rachel Jarry and Amy O'Neill.

O'Hea's career also extends abroad, having played WNBA with the Seattle Storm and Los Angeles Sparks and in France with Arras Pay d'Artois Basket Feminin.

She has represented the Opals throughout her career, winning Bronze at the 2012 London Olympic Games, Silver at the 2018 FIBA World Cup in Spain and Gold at the 2018 Commonwealth Games on the Gold Coast.

The Sabres tip-off for 2021 on Saturday night when they take on the Melbourne Tigers at MSAC.

O'Hea, Jarry and O'Neill will be lining up against fellow Southside champion Monique Conti in this game, which will be an exciting prospect.
