Tornadoes announce flurry of signings ahead of NBL1 South opening night

The Launceston Tornadoes have signed Sharn Hayward, Lauren Wise, Taya Webb and Micah Simpson ahead of the 2021 NBL1 South season. 

Hayward, a local player from Penguin, is a regular in the Tasmania state team and is gearing up to play in the U20 National Championships. 

Wise has also spent time representing her state and was recently selected for the U19 Basketball Australia National Performance camp in Canberra. 

This follows up her gaining of an AIS scholarship in 2019 as a 16-year-old.

Webb is a 182cm forward from Devonport and is currently away playing in the U18 State team. 

She top-scored in her first game for Tasmania. 

Local 175cm guard Simpson is returning for another season with the Tornadoes and will look to up her game in the new-look NBL1 South competition this year.
