When Ricardo Martin touched down in Melbourne back in February 2020, he was excited to show the NBL1 that he was ready to lead the Ringwood Hawks to a successful season.
A lost season and exactly 12 months later, Martin is back and ready to deliver with the same goals in mind.
"I am excited for our chances this year," Martin said.
The 201cm forward is well known for his ability to play both ends of the floor, his great on court passing ability and exciting athleticism but he has spent the last 12 months refining his three-point shot.
That will make him a handful for any NBL1 defenders. It is team success that drives the South Carolina native and has seen enough to know he is right where he wants to be.
“I am with a bunch of guys who I know will fight for 40 minutes,” he said.
“There really is a feeling of unfinished business from 2020 with everyone on this team.”
Martin is the sixth Hawk to jump back onboard with Ringwood, who are still working on their roster and hope to have some more announcements in the next week or two. Martin and his teammates have started their pre-season preparations but will be focused on that round one local rivalry match up on the road against the Eltham Wildcats.
