College talent Scanlon signs with Eltham Wildcats

The Eltham Wildcats have signed former Gonzaga guard Lily Scanlon for the 2021 NBL1 South season.

The Eltham Wildcats have signed former Gonzaga guard Lily Scanlon for the 2021 NBL1 South season.
Scanlon featured in 21 games for the NCAA powerhouse during the 2020-21 season.
The 20-year-old also led the U19 Australian National team to Silver at the 2019 FIBA World Championships, where she averaged 5.7 points, 2.7 rebounds and 2.3 assists.
At U17 level, Scanlon boasted an impressive 11.7 points and helped her team secure a Bronze Medal.
After a season in the States, the Australian returns home after stints with the Bulleen Boomers (2017), BA Centre of Excellence (2019) and Canberra Capitals (2019-2020) in previous years.
The Wildcats are building their roster nicely, with Scanlon joining WNBL championship winner Rebecca Pizzey and 16-year-old junior Wildcat Dyani Ananiev for the upcoming season.
The Wildcats commence their NBL1 campaign at Eltham High School with a clash against Ringwood on Saturday 17 April at 6pm.
