The lone match in the NBL1 South Women's competition on Friday night to open Round 14 saw the Waverley Falcons defeat the Hobart Chargers 73-57.
Renae Mokrzycki finished with 17 points and 11 rebounds for Waverley with Bec Cole adding 15 points, five rebounds and four assists.
Sharna Thompson did all she could to keep Hobart in the contest finishing with 24 points with four three-point makes.
Round 14 in the NBL1 South will fire up on Saturday evening with the Bendigo Braves taking on the Mount Gambier Pioneers with the Sandringham Sabres at home to Keilor Thunder and the Casey Cavaliers taking on the Kilsyth Cobras.
The Knox Raiders will also be hosting the Melbourne Tigers with the Nunawading Spectres playing the Ballarat Miners, the Diamond Valley Eagles facing the Eltham Wildcats, and the Launceston Tornadoes taking on the Waverley Falcons.
Lastly on Saturday night will be the Ringwood Hawks hosting the Frankston Blues.
Then on Sunday, Round 14 in the NBL1 South wraps up with the Eltham Wildcats hosting the Nunawading Spectres while the Melbourne Tigers play the Dandenong Rangers, and the Geelong Supercats are at home to the Mount Gambier Pioneers.

HOBART CHARGERS 57 lost to WAVERLEY FALCONS 73
The Waverley Falcons consolidated their spot in the NBL1 South's top eight with a 16-point road victory over the Hobart Chargers on Friday night.
The lone game in the Friday night NBL1 South action to open Round 14 saw the Chargers at home to the Falcons at Kingborough Sports Centre.
That saw Waverley work their way on top to close out the opening quarter to open up an eight-point advantage before leading 23-17 by quarter-time.
Hobart did well to stick around during the second term looking for a late season win at home after a tough campaign, and the Falcons only led 40-32 by the half-time break.
Waverley then locked in defensively in the third quarter with 19 points to nine including scoring nine straight points to lead by as much as 18 by three quarter-time.
The Chargers kept fighting but could never really make an indent on the deficit with the Falcons scoring the important 73-57 win.
As a result of the victory, Waverley improves to a 12-6 record to sit sixth in the standings with two rounds of the regular season remaining. The Chargers are now 4-16 following the defeat.
Renae Mokrzycki ended the night with 17 points and 11 rebounds for Waverley on the back of shooting 8/14 from the floor.
Bec Cole had a strong all-round performance with 15 points, five rebounds, four assists and two steals with Carley Ernst contributing 14 points and five boards, Sophia Locandro 10 points and three rebounds, and Orla O'Reilly six points, 10 rebounds and four assists.
Sharna Thompson did all she could to keep the Chargers in the contest putting up 24 points and three assists with Paige Bradley contributing 12 points, eight boards, five assists and four steals.
Kylie McCauley also had 11 points and 12 rebounds for Hobart, and Angela Tompkins 10 points and five boards.
