NBL1 South League Manager Alison Cody praised the event and those involved.

“We would like to sincerely thank the Mount Gambier Pioneers for their outstanding efforts in hosting this showcase, and the Mount Gambier basketball community for turning out in such strong support."

"Our thanks also go to the Adelaide 36ers for providing this unique opportunity for NBL1 South athletes to test themselves against elite opposition, and to the players and coaching staff of the Select Team for proudly representing our league."

"This was the first time an NBL1 South Select Team has taken the floor in Mount Gambier, and it highlighted the incredible talent pathway between NBL1 and the NBL. We are excited to continue building these opportunities into the future.”

The night also marked a special moment for Richard Hill, who coached the Select Team fresh off being named NBL1 South Men Coach of the Year.
